About

  • Today, many Americans hold inaccurate and often negative assumptions about those on the other side of the political spectrum. These and other misperceptions make conversations feel unsafe or pointless, pulling communities further apart and increasing risks to society.

  • The good news is that misperceptions can be corrected. Much research shows benefits of repeated messaging, and how straightforward misperception corrections can increase trust, open minds, and encourage more meaningful dialogue to create understanding and connection.

  • Civil discourse is foundational to a healthy society. When people can speak and listen across real and perceived differences, prejudice fades, trust grows, and collaboration becomes possible. College students are at a pivotal stage of life, shaping the values and civic habits they will carry forward. More Like US reaching students today on campus means investing in a future filled with conversation and learning, not division.

College campuses are places where ideas spread, relationships form, and perspectives evolve. With over 19 million students across the United States, the opportunity for impact is enormous. More Like US works to motivate civil discourse where it can take root early, helping campuses become catalysts for a more connected and resilient nation.
